LINCOLN, NE (August 13, 2013) – Mark your calendars! Register now! Attend The Groundwater Foundation National Conference to be held October 15-17, 2013 at the Mission Inn Resort near Orlando, Florida. The theme of the conference is “Tools for Groundwater Sustainability: Working Together to Meet the Challenges” and will focus on the resources, tools, and practices which lead to groundwater sustainability.

The impacts of our growing population, societal needs, and climate variations all render the need for increased efforts to protect and conserve our groundwater resources. The 2013 conference promises to showcase innovative solutions and programs that communities have developed and implemented locally. Presentations focus on the knowledge, technology, and practices that can assist communities in moving towards local groundwater sustainability.

The protection and conservation of our groundwater resources are critical to the economic and social vitality of our communities. Conference participants will leave the conference with a plethora of actions that will help to make a difference in their community.

Two free workshops will precede the conference Tuesday afternoon. If your community wants to learn more about groundwater protection or educate its community about local issues, be sure to register for the Groundwater Guardian Workshop. And, to learn more about educating youth about groundwater, register for the Groundwater Education Workshop.

Post conference adventurers can register to scuba dive or snorkel at Alexander Springs. This outing is limited to the number of people it can accommodate, so register early.

To learn more about the conference, see the agenda, and to register to attend, visit The Groundwater Foundation website at, email, or call 1-800-858-4844.
