The Source of What?

The source of our drinking water. Source water is water from streams, rivers, lakes, or underground aquifers that is used to provide drinking water for human consumption for both public and private supplies.

Discover more about source water protection with the TAPS activities. Each activity demonstrates a different sources of potential groundwater contamination, such as improperly abandon wells, sinkholes or land erosion, over-applied fertilizer, leaking underground storage tanks, and improperly operated landfills.
