The Groundwater Foundation has developed a variety of educational resources to engage students and inspire teachers - making learning about groundwater fun!

  • Build your own working aquifer model with the Awesome Aquifer Kit. All aquifer building essentials come packed in this 4" by 8" by 4" clear plastic box. The reusable kit includes a written activity guide with step by step instructions for six advanced groundwater demonstrations. Lessons include groundwater terminology, groundwater's role in the hydrologic cycle, the physical makeup of an aquifer, groundwater contamination, and remediation strategies.

  • Teach audiences of all ages to appreciate water use and food production with fun hands-on activities included in the electronic book, Circles of Fun. Activities cover the history of irrigation, modern water saving techniques currently being used on farms, irrigation-related vocabulary terms and definitions, full color photographs of irrigation methods, games, puzzles, answer keys, and more.

    Build a working model of a center pivot from a drinking straw, experiment with spray bottles to discover the value of different sprinkler patterns, and make original artwork with irrigation equipment are just a few of the activities you can teach with this instructional guide.

    LEAP into Groundwater is a project-based educational curriculum developed to engage students in learning about groundwater and to take action to protect their water resources. Designed for middle and high school-age students LEAP can be implemented in the classroom, during after school programs, or as part of any youth group activity.

  • Learn about source water, potential risks to source water, and how you can help prevent source water pollution through building groundwater models and demonstrating potential contaminant risks.
