Septic Education Kit
Get Pumped is an easy-to-use educational kit, designed to increase awareness among lake residents and other septic system owners in Nebraska about proper septic system operation and maintenance; provide ready-to-use community education tools for lake residents and their partners to educate themselves, fellow homeowners, and lake visitors about septic systems; and to encourage action among lake residents, communities, and their partners to work towards groundwater protection through septic system management.
How and When to Use Kit Materials
The materials included in this kit are designed for lake residents and their partners to use as an educational resource, perhaps as part of a proactive public awareness campaign, to help educate neighbors, or in response to requests for information.
These materials may also be used to commemorate special events, such as National Groundwater Awareness Week (recognized the third week in March, visit http://www.ngwa.org/awareness/aware.cfm for more information) or National Drinking Water Week (celebrated each May, visit www.awwa.org for exact dates), or add an educational element to a community event, such as a county fair or home show.
