The US Geological Survey is the National Co-Sponsor of the Groundwater Guardian program.
The GG Green Site program recognizes good stewards of groundwater by encouraging managers of highly-managed green spaces (golf courses, ball fields, parks, etc.) to implement, measure, and document their groundwater-friendly practices.
The GG Green Site program is independent from the Groundwater Guardian program, and may be used to complement Groundwater Guardian teams’ protection efforts. More.

2008 Conference Challenge
A challenge has been issued to all Groundwater Guardians – The 2008 Groundwater Foundation National Conference and Groundwater Guardian Designation Celebration will be held in the Community/Affiliate’s area that recruits the most Groundwater Guardian Green Sites by March 31, 2008.
