Groundwater Guardian Affiliate Designation Criteria
1. Form a Team
To be eligible for designation, each Groundwater Guardian Affiliate must form a team with at least four members that show broad representation from the entity to ensure as much organizational and administrative support as possible. The team could include, but is not limited to:
The team should include Groundwater Guardian Community team members from any existing Groundwater Guardian Communities in their area and/or from communities who enter the program as a result of their effort. Including these team members will help the Affiliate understand the local groundwater protection needs and the goals of the communities they are working with.
2. Complete and Submit Required Forms
Communities applying for Groundwater Guardian status must complete and submit the following forms on time:
Groundwater Guardian forms serve several purposes. They help Groundwater Guardian Affiliate teams consider how they can best help communities in their efforts to protect groundwater; they provide Groundwater Foundation staff with information to prepare Groundwater Guardian Affiliate Profiles, both on-line and in print; and they provide the Groundwater Guardian Council with information to determine whether an entity has earned Groundwater Guardian Affiliate status.
3. Provide Service to Communities
To earn Groundwater Guardian designation status, entities must implement at least one Result Oriented Service (ROS) each year. ROSs generally fall into five categories:
