Community Profile:

The area's population of 5,750 receives all of its drinking water from the local groundwater supply. The quality and sufficiency of the local groundwater is a concern as the area is experiencing rapid growth. The Carroll Township, Franklin Township, and Dillsburg Borough team plan to use their participation in Groundwater Guardian to heighten public awareness of the need for groundwater protection and conservation practices.

Result Oriented Activities:

• Began the development of a Wellhead Protection Plan.
