Community Profile:
Groundwater provides 100% of the drinking water for the County's 92,100 residents. Eau Claire County is currently trying to prevent contamination of the municipal wells by enacting a wellhead protection ordinance, working to reduce contamination threats to susceptible private wells, and working during the planning phases of new developments to avoid any water problems. Eau Claire County uses the Groundwater Guardian program to continue education and protection efforts.
